General Screen FAQs

Is there a limit to the number of users who can log in to the console?

No, there is no limit.

The task does not become PATCH_APPLIED after an update

FutureVuls can detect unpatched vulnerabilities. You can determine the availability of update packages by looking at the “Patched” column of each grid.

  • Circle indicates patches are available.
  • Discrepancies" indicate vulnerabilities that have not been patched.

Check the patch provision status of “applicable tasks that are not PATCH_APPLIED”.

Why are there tasks that have not been updated but are still PATCH_APPLIED?

PATCH_APPLIED" status is a task that has “CVEs detected at one point in time, but not now”.

There may be one of the following reasons

  • a. The CVE is no longer detected due to an upgrade of the managed server version.
  • b. Modification of vulnerability databases such as NVD has made the corresponding CVE undetectable.
  • c. A false positive bug in the FutureVuls service has been resolved and the corresponding CVE is no longer detected.

How long does it take for the scan results to be reflected in FutureVuls?

A few minutes.

“Group Settings” is not displayed in the upper right menu.

The group settings menu will not appear unless you have group administrator privileges. Please ask the group administrator to assign group administrator privileges to the user in question.

“Organization Settings” is not displayed in the upper right menu.

Organization Settings" will not be displayed unless the user has owner privileges. Please ask the owner to assign organization owner privileges to the appropriate user.

The screen is corrupted. New functions of the portal are not displayed, etc.

The browser or a proxy server in the communication path may be caching the information. Press SHIFT+F5 to delete the cache and try accessing again.

I want to know why two same servers are displayed.

FutureVuls uses a unique ID called server UUID to identify the server.
The Server UUID is automatically generated by the scanner program and sent to the FutureVuls cloud service with the scan results.
Even if the same server is scanned, if the UUID in config.toml is changed, it will be recognized as a different server by the FutureVuls internal system.
If you have unintentionally registered multiple identical servers, please delete them from FutureVuls by referring to delete server.
In the Server UUID column of Scan History you can see the Server UUID included in the scan results. Use this as a reference for which servers to delete.

Is there a reporting feature?

FutureVuls does not have a reporting function at this time. This is due to the fact that it is difficult to provide a unified report format, as each company uses a different report format. If you would like to create a report, please download it in CSV format and create the report in Excel or other formats.

CSV can be downloaded from the “CSV Download” button on each screen. You can also download the CSV file from each screen, and then use Excel functions or command line tools to JOIN the file on your PC using the CVE-ID as a key. For details, please refer to CSV Download.

You can also download CVS data including detailed information on tasks and vulnerabilities by clicking [Task] > [CSV Report] button. The data in the “Tasks”>“CSV Report” is not the latest information at the time of clicking the button, but the data created at 8:00 a.m. every day. image

I want to switch between Japanese and English

FutureVuls supports Japanese and English. There are two types of settings: a. Language settings for the FutureVuls portal screen, and b. Language settings for email notifications, etc.

a. Language settings for FutureVuls Portal screen

The FutureVuls Portal screen automatically switches the display language by referring to the language settings of the browser itself. Since the setting is made on the browser side, the language used can be selected on a per-user (per-browser) basis. Currently, Japanese and English are supported.

When set to Japanese mode, the menu will be in Japanese and detailed information on JVN will be displayed. When set to English mode, the on-screen menu will be displayed in English. When in English mode, JVN will not be displayed.

The following is how to set the display language of Chrome.

  • Enter chrome://en/settings/languages in the URL bar of Chrome
  • If you want to display Japanese, set the topmost setting to “Japanese”.
  • If you want to display in English, select “English” at the top.

b. Language settings for email notifications, etc.

You can change the language used for notifications from the service from Organization Settings>Language Settings for Organization. This setting is for the entire organization.
